Polygon has the manufacturing technology to pultrude, braid or filament wind your composite solution. Our production engineers select the appropriate technology based on your specific application.

PRODUCTION TechnologieS

BRAIDING

Braiding is a tube constructing process where the continuous fibers are wound around a mandrel, then dipped into a resin bath before baking in an oven. This process allows us to make thinner and less dense tubing because the resin is a collective coating rather than covering the individual strands.

FILAMENT WINDING

In the filament winding process, the continuous fibers are dipped individually into a resin bath, pulled to remove the excess resin, and then wound around a mandrel for baking to harden. We provide a variety of mandrel sizes depending on the needs of your application.

PULTRUSION

The pultrusion process includes two parts: first, some filaments are dipped into a resin bath and threaded in a vertical orientation, while others are wrapped circumferentially around the forming tube. After being wrapped, the filaments are heated to harden right away. Then, the tubes are pulled to a cutting table to be cut to length of your final application. Watch it in action here.
